Small Animals

A complete service from puppy and kitten checks to surgery, with in-house lab, x-ray, ultrasound and nurse clinics, a Pet Health Plan for ongoing care.

From your pet's first puppy or kitten check to compassionate end-of-life care, our small animal team is here for every stage of your pet's life. We combine modern diagnostic facilities with a personal, unhurried approach, so you always know your pet is in experienced hands.

Diagnostics and surgery

Our in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy mean that in most cases, we can investigate and diagnose without the delay of sending samples elsewhere. Our well-equipped surgical theatre covers everything from routine neutering to emergency procedures, and for more complex cases, we work with visiting specialist surgeons to bring advanced expertise directly to our practice, rather than requiring a referral elsewhere.

Having diagnostics and surgery under one roof means less waiting and less worrying — for you and for your pet.

Ongoing care and nurse clinics

Our nursing team runs regular nurse clinics covering everything from weight management to post-operative checks, giving you easy access to advice and support between vet appointments. For pets who benefit from a little extra help with handling or routine care, these clinics are also a great way to build familiarity with the practice in a relaxed setting.

Pet Health Plans

Our Pet Health Plan is designed to spread the cost of routine preventative care over 12 monthly payments, while also unlocking a range of member discounts. It includes:

  • Annual booster vaccinations, with your pet's primary vaccination course at half price
  • Ongoing parasite control, covering fleas, ticks, mites and worms
  • Discounts on additional vaccinations such as kennel cough and rabies, dental treatment, neutering, in-house lab tests and long-term medications
  • Microchipping for just £10
  • A six-month nurse health check
  • Four nail clips a year
  • Anal gland expression
  • Free submission of insurance claims on your behalf
A Health Plan isn't just about saving money — it's about making sure preventative care never gets put off.

Travel and beyond

If you're planning to travel abroad with your pet, we issue Animal Health Certificates (AHCs) to help you meet entry requirements for your destination. We also offer acupuncture as part of our wider approach to care, and for anything outside our normal opening hours, our small animal out-of-hours cover is provided in partnership with St. Boniface Vets in Crediton, so help is always close by.
